Project Life 2014: Week 20

Another low journaling spread :-/  Last year when I had more of a set formula, I almost always had a big 4x6 journal card with a rundown of the week, day by day.  I'm 22 weeks in to this year and still haven't found a good set formula... sometimes I like that, other times it really bugs me.  A couple of things I've found that I MUST have are a calendar card and the week number though.

Project Life 2014: Week 19

I guess one of the perks of being behind with posting is that I get to look back a little.  These pages are from about a month ago when Alex had a week bookended by music performances... Sunday was the 2nd Led Zeppelin show and Saturday was the first performance of Lucky 13.  A friend of Alex's from SOR was having his Bar Mitzvah and got some friends together to form a band for the party.  They practiced for weeks and performed 4 or 5 songs.  Alex had a blast.  Typing this, I realize that I should be doing more journaling on my pages :-/  I've got to get caught back up and stay caught up.  I find that the first thing to go when I'm behind is the journaling.  I'm dangerously close to being completely caught up and the week I'm working on is a little light on photos, so maybe it'll be a good one to start journaling again on.

Anyway... here's week 19...

Here's a video from the Sunday Led Zeppelin show...

Project Life 2014: Week 18

Week 18 was one of those weeks where I apparently forgot to take photos other than two days at the beginning and end of the week!  Lots of filler!

And since I forgot to include it with the week that had the OK Computer pictures, here is some video of the show...

Project Life 2014: Week 17

 Week 17...

These pages will be printed back to back and will fall between the pages above.  I'll trim them to 6x12 once they're printed...

Project Life 2014: Week 16

Week 16...

Is it just me or is this year flying by incredibly fast?  I'm working on week 21 right now, which made me realize that in just five short weeks, I could be ordering my book one with the first half of 2014 in it!!  Seems completely unreal.  That is something that I've found with doing PL, the weeks seem to just fly... I just get one week done and it's time to start another!  I totally love it though (even though I'm still in a bit of a slump).

Pretty much everything on these came from the April members content on Little Dreamer Designs.

Project Life 2014: Week 15

Well, apparently there are some benefits to procrastination!  I was procrastinating on posting, not really on purpose, just busy.  I had skipped week 15, but had weeks 16-18 done and ready to post.  Yesterday I finally finished up week 15 and when I started this blog post I realized that I had finished it in time to post everything in order instead of skipping around!

This week was way different for me.  Very colorful and "busier" than I normally do.  I've never thought of myself as a watercolor paper girl, but these papers from the facebook hop freebie kit from the Lilypad just happened to match Clara's solo costume perfectly.  I love how these pages turned out!

In other memory keeping news... Clara is still plugging away at her own project life book.  Her April prints arrived last week and we're working on her pages together.  I love that she's enjoying this and I truly love that it's something we do together!  I still need to take photos of her completed pages.  We've also joined a Project Life Random Acts of Kindness group and have had so much fun sending out and receiving surprise packages of supplies!

Our next project I need to blog about is our travel journals for our big summer trip.  We've decided to do Smash Book style journals.  Clara picked up hers on Saturday and it is an actual Smash Book.  I'm on the fence about what to get.  Right now I'm currently leaning toward the Michael's Recollections Creative Chaos journal.  I love Smash Books, but I like that the Recollections one is a three ring binder.  We started acquiring fun supplies on Saturday at Michael's (and I may have impulse shopped my way through the Joann site later that evening).  My Mother's Day gift was directly related to this project too and I can't wait for it to get here!  I'll post more on that once it's in.  Next up, Clara and I need to find a good compact way to organize our supplies for the trip.

I enjoyed scrapbooking in the past, but never as much as I do now.  Project Life was the first step... I love the bare bones memory keeping of it and how the whole family has gotten involved with taking photos for my books.  It's at a whole new level now that Clara has started her own projects.  As we enter the teen years, I'm so glad that we have something we do together.  And hopefully it become habit for her, something that she can take with her for her adult life as well.  I'm also enjoying that with doing these projects with Clara, I'm slowly escaping my safe little digital scrapbooking bubble and starting to play with paper.

Anyway... enough rambling!  Time to hit "publish"!

Project Life 2014: Week 14

I should type more, but had a fabulous deep tissue massage earlier today at the chiropractor and now I'm barely capable of forming complete sentences :-)

So here it is, week 14...

And I just realized that I'm typing this on Friday night and setting it to post on Saturday.  So the opening sentence isn't true for when this posts, but it was true for when I wrote it.  :-/

Project Life 2014: Week 13 Part 2

I've forgotten to post again... oops!  I'm still behind... but in a weird way.  I've been hopping all around.  Week 13 is done (all six pages), 14 is done, 15 is still in progress (waiting on photos), 16 is done and I'm just about to wrap up 17.  It's now May 1st and I haven't done my March round up of leftover photos and should be getting ready to start April's round up.  Those round ups sounded like a great idea when I was all caught up, but now, with being behind, I'm starting to question their value :-)

Project Life 2014: Week 13 Part 1

Still behind, but I have finally gotten through spring break!  To stick with my 2014 plan of bigger photos and not limiting myself on the number of pages, spring break weekend ended up being 6 pages. I'm waffling on this change a little.  I'm beginning to worry that I'll lose some of the "project life-ness" of it all if I have too many pages... but it's my plan for this year, so I'll stay the course.

We'll start with the pages from our drive down to MO on Sunday and our trip to Eureka Springs on Monday....

Project Life 2014: Week Twelve

I could pretend and say that me posting week 12 means I'm catching up. But, sadly, that's not the case.  Week 12 has been done for a while now (probably at least a week), I was just waiting for permission to use some of the photos before I put it up.  The band photos were taken by a mom from Clara's school and was waiting to hear back from her.

So here is week 12 (the week before the dreaded spring break week that I can't get motivated to finish!)...

Behind...

Yes, this time I'm actually behind.  Not just in posting, but behind in getting my pages together.  In theory, I'm not THAT behind, I just have to finish two weeks ago and last week.  BUT... two weeks ago was Spring Break and somehow that week has turned into six pages!  I have all of the pictures laid out though, so I just have to add the fun stuff.  Hopefully that will go quickly.

In the meantime, I thought I would post about what else we're up to.  Clara started her own project life album!

I snapped a few photos with my phone while she was working on her album on Saturday.
In order to streamline the process as much as possible, we kept things simple.  She is using design F pages only since they have the most 3x4 slots (except for U, but as far as I can tell, those only come in a variety pack).  She's using photos from her phone and adds the date and caption using the Collect app.  At the end of the month, I export them to our personal cloud at home and then order 3x4 prints from Persnickety Prints.  So, when the prints come, it's just the fun stuff since everything is already cropped and labeled!

She loves the fun stuff!  Here's her supply cart...
It used to be my cart, but I never ended up with a hobby that really required all of that space for stuff.  Being digital... I just need more external drives!!

Here are some of her pages in progress...
I'll have to take some better photos of her finished pages so she can have her own section here on the blog!  It's fun to see the difference between digital and paper project life!!

Now back to my pages!
