Dance Album: Northwestern Game

I got motivated the other day to work on Clara's dance album again. This time I tackled (see what I did there?) the photos of the girls performing before the Northwestern football game.

At one time the journaling card had more writing on it, but I ended up erasing it.  I have to remember that this is Clara's album, not mine.  So, I kept it to just the facts.

Project Life 2015: Week 12

Some weeks I don't have a lot of photos and some weeks I have a whole bunch of random photos.  This was a bunch of random photos week.  And then, after I finished this, I found that a mom from Clara's school posted a bunch of great photos from the band field trip for us to download.  Looks like I'll probably be adding an insert to this week so I can include those photos as well.  I have a feeling that is going to be another year of big project life books... or possibly three (or more books).  I'm having a hard time leaving out photos this year.

Here's my week 12...

Project Life 2010: Disneyland

I got motivated at the end of last week to work on my Disney pages from 2010.  There were two factors involved in this... 1) Sahlin Studio was having a sale on her Project Mouse kits and 2) Clara and I have been working on our plans for our trip to Disneyland this summer.  It was really hard to decide which kits to buy since there is such a great selection in the Project Mouse line.  I ended up starting with the first basics set.

Here are my pages...

Of course the kit worked perfectly with these photos!  I think I'm going to need to pick up a few more before Clara and I go on our trip.

Oh... there's still one more two page spread from this trip... just dragging my feet on finishing up the journaling.

Project Life 2015: Week 11

Project life... it takes a village!

I took a look at my photos after finishing my pages and realized just how many people contributed to them!  They're all phone photos, but they came from my phone, Jeff's phone, Clara's phone, Clara's friend's mom's phone and Clara's teacher's phone!

I wasn't sure how everything was going to come together, but I think this is one my favorite weeks so far this year!  I love the mix of photos!

Recipe Journal: The Cherry Hut

Not many recipes so far in the "recipe journal", huh?  :-)

My biggest issue is that I want to play with all of the pocket scrapping art journal challenges at The Lilypad, but I don't have the right photos to go with the recipes yet.  I need to cook and take photos... plus go through old photos to see what I can find.   Last week's prompt was to scrap someplace you've been, so I picked one of our summer favorites, The Cherry Hut...

I'm now regretting that I didn't journal on it.  It's something we still actively do, so it didn't really occur to me to write anything down.  I like the way the page looks, so maybe I'll just slip a card with journaling on it behind one of the photos in the 3x4 slots.

The kit I used, couldn't have been more perfect!  Here's the link....

Project Life 2010: Week 21, part one

I'm moving right along with my 2010 pages! I'm about to the point where I need to get more pages ready with photos on templates.  I have a block of skiing spreads that I've skipped and a block of pages from our trip to Legoland/Disneyland that I need to do.  But other than that, I'm about ready to move forward into the awkward months (the time period where I stopped doing photo-a-day and actually pretty much stopped taking photos altogether.. sigh).

Here's the first part of week 21...

It's funny how perfectly this kit coordinated with the kids' clothing for this part of the week!  I'm still loving this project.  I know I keep saying this, but it's funny how much you forget.  I had forgotten how Clara always had to take a stuffed animal with her everywhere she went!  It was so fun to look back and see her with her bear at the Cubs game!

Project Life 2015: Week 10

This was a tough week to get started.  I had a serious lack of photos the first part of the week and an over abundance of them from the end of the week.  Add to that, we were all scattered for the weekend, which made organizing my plan even harder.

Here's the first part of the week...

I had exactly two photos for the first part of the week and those were taken on Sunday!  So I went on a screen shot search... I downloaded a photo from the Big Hero 6 Facebook page for our Sunday night movie, a M*A*S*H photo from google images (the sitcom Alex and I are currently watching on Netflix) and a screen shot of the library's e-book site since I was busy downloading books for our trip.  I wasn't sure what to do with page two, so I gathered up all of the candids I could from Clara's dance competition weekend (some from Clara directly, some from Snapchats, some from the dance company's instagram account).  Enough to fill some spots.  I filled in the rest with the fabulous new Stacked Pocket Card sets from Just Jaimee.  They really added some "oomph" to my pages, since my photos really weren't doing it this week!

Next we have the pages from our weekend away....

Here's where the too many photos came in.  Jeff and I had a great weekend away in AZ.  During our time there, I had a lot of time to wander around taking photos.  And with the beautiful weather, I definitely wanted to be outside!  I had a hard time narrowing the photos down for this spread.

Project Life 2015: Week 9

This was a tough week to pull together.  It was a week of random iPhone photos... no overall theme and just lots of, well... randomness.  But, it's done!

Seems like I should have more to say... but apparently, I don't.  We have a crazy weekend coming up and I'm a little preoccupied with that at the moment.
