Okay... maybe a LOT more photos! :-)
After a morning of skiing, we ran into town and grabbed a quick lunch. The kids had their afternoon planned out.... ice skating and then sledding.
We went to the rink first. Not much of a rink... the ice was really beaten up and slushy. However, that didn't phase Clara much.... Alex was a different story...
He lasted all of one trip around the rink. I honestly think his issue had more to do with the fact that they didn't have any boys' skates in his size so he ended up with girls' skates a full size too big because that's all they had.
I took Alex across the street to the sledding hill while Jeff stayed with Clara so she could skate a little longer.
It wasn't long before Clara joined us...
Alex had a pretty spectacular wipeout...
And then Clara was eaten by a stand of trees....
(can you see where she ended up?)
Back up the hill...
Some older kids had built a ramp out of snow so the kids decided to try it out...
Clara was all smiles...
smiling....
still smiling...
and even still smiling now...
HOWEVER... her next trip off the ramp was not as happy...
so not smiling....
I will spare you the next photo in that series... just let me say that she was most definitely NOT smiling.
Alex gave it a try too...
(it kills me that I missed the focus on that one)
His take-off didn't go quite as planned this run...
and I'm pretty sure this was not the landing he had planned either...
Still a ton more photos to come!
Aly - We took the kids skiing last year and they loved it. We had planned to take them again this year but we just could never find a good weekend. I think it was watching the Olympics that pushed us into finally making plans. Inspired by the Olympics, the kids planned which "events" they would be doing on our trip. :-)
That looks so much fun! Cold though :0
