for the birds...

seriously.. it is!

When we were at the nature center the other day for the maple tree tapping, our guide told us that a fun project to do in the spring is to make little nest building kits for the birds. She said that she includes dryer lint, hair, pet hair, yarn, etc. in a mesh bag and hangs it out for the birds. Clara has been obsessed with this idea for weeks now and finally, while in Missouri, we snagged a clementine bag from my mom to use for this project. So, we gathered some lint, found some Friday hair, gathered some tufts of fuzz from the family room rug (the dog likes to "dig" holes to lay in on that rug... sigh) and finally some bright colored pieces of yarn. Trimmed to the perfect size of course...
Then we hung it off of our back deck on the limb of a tree that technically belongs to our neighbor, but given that it's a rental unit full of 20-somethings, I don't think they'll mind... or even notice for that matter....
Then then stalking... umm... waiting began...
We never saw a bird go anywhere near it today but you have to be patient with things like this.... LOL!

Other than that... I blogged a little about our school day... nothing exciting.

Now I'm finally off to bed!

'nite!
