Clara's violin teacher has a performance on the last day of class next week, so we had to do a make-up class and a regular class this week. We really love her teacher and this is a prime example of why we do. She thought it might be too dull to have two regular classes two day in a row, so she suggested that on Friday (yesterday) Alex should bring his guitar too and they could learn to play songs together! She's good friends with Alex's guitar teacher, so last week while Clara was in her class, Alex's guitar teacher sat in the lobby with Alex and taught him the chords to the songs Clara has been working on. (we love Alex's guitar teacher too!)
So, yesterday was the big day. They had practiced individually but this would be their first time to play together.
Clara and her teacher ran through her songs first, she moved on to working with Alex on his chords (she was playing along with him on her guitar)...
Then they played together...
(they played Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star together and are working on Bile Em Cabbage Down)
It was such a fun class! The kids had a blast and are asking when they could do this again. I feel so fortunate that we lucked upon such fabulous instructors.
Anyway... one last shot of my little traveling musicians on the L...
Other than that... Clara had dance last night and Alex had a birthday party. Clara got to try on her costume for the Chinese dance and is sooooooo excited about next weekend. Alex had a blast at the birthday party and since the party had a Lego theme.... he came home with all kinds of Lego loot.
Okay... the day is halfway through and I have no clue what my photo for today might be... hhhmmmmmmm.....
