Yesterday I didn't take a single photo. Jeff's parents were leaving and my parents were due to arrive that afternoon. After the matinee, the Nutcracker Children's Cast was having a dinner at a restaurant near the theater. I sent the little camera with Clara... she was my photographer for the day.
And, so.... here is the series of photos I call... If You Give a 9 Year Old a Camera....
If you give a 9 year old a camera, you will have photos of...
their friends making goofy faces...
a close-up photo of another friend...
a friend's fingers in front of the camera....
another friend....
glassware, salt and pepper shakers and sugar...
an extreme close-up of a friend....
a photo of a friend taking a photo of the nine year old....
a video about their (nearly) empty bowl of chips....
a crowd of girls waiting to see Fabrice....
a fuzzy photo of the chandelier the 9 year old took a fancy to...
the wall....
plates of "finished" food....
(any guess which one was Clara's?)
shades of pink....
shades of red....
total blackness...
the window frame....
a friend texting....
the wall AND the window frame....
another friend....
a video that will give you motion sickness....
treats that "santa" brought....
hot chocolate...
a photo a friend of the nine year old took of her and Fabrice....
(she was so excited to see that he was wearing the shirt her friends and her had given him!)
and finally, a video of the trip home (while Jeff is on a call in the background)....
She had such a great time at the dinner! The girls she sat with are all in her regular classes and they're all in the same cast. They have so much fun together and as a bonus, the moms are all really great people as well. I love it when it works out that way! Clara love, love, loves to dance, but it really doesn't mean as much if she didn't have such great friends in her classes (both here and the other place she dances). It is so much more than just another activity... it's time she gets to spend with her friends. And because of the moms.... I probably look forward to her dance days as much as she does!
(not sure why there seems to be no audio with the videos... oh well)
