Apparently it worked....
The kids were so excited to wake up Tuesday morning to find their shoes filled with candy! They've decided that they need to do this every year now :-)
Our day was pretty low key.... Clara was at school and Alex said wasn't feeling 100% so he didn't go to his tap class (honestly... I just think he didn't want to go). It was all good with me... we got to hang out in our warm home instead of traipsing outside in the cold (I did run one errand to work on a special Christmas surprise for Clara.... can't wait to see how it turns out!!).
I dropped Clara off at dance later and did a little more Christmas shopping... mostly stocking stuffers.
To continue with our international theme we have going on this Christmas, Jeff was carrying this...
... when he walked in from picking up Clara last night. Danish Kringle... yum!! This stuff is the best. There is a guy that works with Jeff whose family owns this bakery. He's given us Kringles before and we love them!
After the kids were in their pj's, it was time to unwrap the book....
The Polar Express!!! Another favorite....
I love how this tradition evolves....
... when we started, we read all of the books, then when Alex started to read, he would read some of the easier ones. Next Alex read almost all of the books to Clara, now they each read their own books aloud as we sit together as a family. Love it!
Clara decided to snuggle up with her daddy....
.... and occasionally check to see if he was still awake :-)
But occasionally, he would be awake...
... and she would be the one we needed to check on! :-)
