This fall Alex auditioned to be part of a theater company's young ensemble. He got in and it has been an amazing experience for him! This session, his group worked on writing an original work. Their theme was growing up. It was really amazing... I wish I would have videoed it. Alex didn't have many speaking parts, but they used the scene that he wrote in the performance. He was so proud! He wrote the scene about a mother and daughter discussing what the mother missed about being a kid. It was really neat to see his "voice" come out through this.
After the performance, we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then wandered into the downstairs lobby of the Hancock building to see this....
TRAINS!!! We try to stop by and see them every Christmas. It's like a huge game of "I Spy"... so many little details to see.
See Spiderman scaling the Hancock?
Or Harry Potter on his broomstick?
Or the Stanley Cup?
We have a lot of fun taking it all in...
... and then it was time to head home. We still had our book to unwrap! Clara was beyond excited to unwrap....
So, we put in the CD and all sang along...
And then, thanks to the St. Nicholas Day gift Alex had gotten the day before, the kids decided to see if Sinterklaas would come visit them if they left out their shoes and a carrot...
The story Alex had been given mentioned that the children sing a song to Sinterklaas before going to bed.... so they decided to be as official as they could and sang the Sinterklaas song that's in Miracle....
They would have to wait until Tuesday morning to see if it worked!
What an amazing experience for Alex! I'll bet he loved every minute of it!
